Here are my top picks from Zara inspired by the classic 90's F. R. I. E. N. D. S. sitcom! I’ve always been a Fashionista... I’ve been picking my own outfit ever since I was a baby lol! I started wearing straight boyfriend jeans at 14-15, back then I was like a trendsetter here since we would not get bf jeans that easily, I’d customise my clothes, collect hand & leg warmers, over-knee socks, cashmere scarves, neckerchiefs, I’d wear satin ribbons in my neck ‘cuz we didn’t even have chokers back then, feels like I’ve come a long way!

I’ve put together a collection of my favourite looks from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
This golden era (decade) of a never-ending Solemn & at the same time Grungy and Chic 90’s was all about...
Matte Gold Highlights & Fine Streaks
I Love Rachel’s Denim Dungarees, Classic mini dial metal watch & that brown leather sling bag. They’ve combined the whole look with matte lips and dark eyes.
2. ‘J E A N S’ They can truly define your 90’s look... especially classic high waisted vintage wash denims
I found something similar at Zara but I guess their editing is making it resemble the above pic more... I just wish all of their denims would’ve actually been somewhat slim or they had a proper fit. Most of them are now designed as per the new - sculpted aka modified, grotesque out of proportionate surgically acquired - beauty standards. The waist is smaller than a hair tie (not for someone with a broad frame like mine unless I go under the knife like most bloggers, non-invasive liposuction isn’t gonna help, not with the whole abdominal frame) the silhouette of the jeans (as well as those girls) looks very odd, their waist just doesn’t match the super hefty thighs. I mean we ain’t animated cartoon sketches (or VFX cyborgs) to squeeze and mould in every possible shape or form of an eye candy Lolita, why is every girl out there desperately trying to satiate this modern male centric world? I’m not here to deprecate about them but I thought I’ll take this opportunity to share how we are manipulating & emulating those so called obsoleted “beauty standards” with unmeetable, implausible ones. I mean why drearily repeat the very banal, cliché of the century bandwagon of “Being yourself” when non one’s allowed to be comfortable in their own skin?
For example, this raw image of their unedited (non-customised/unaltered) pair right here was supposed to be a size 24 Skinny. Looks like they are only catering to obese & fat people now, they’ve alienated skinny girls completely... I don’t know why their amateur minds somehow believe only models are skinny or size 0, according to them no one can be naturally “skinny.”
What about those like me who are born with a fast metabolism? We never have it easy, skinny kids are picked upon and bullied, dominated by fatsos more... who are honestly quite callus at times, they ain’t that sensitive, we are considered wimpy; I’m not trivialising their concerns or insecurities... but why are we encouraging obesity? And why are these brands not making clothes for skinny or slim people, they’ve boycotted us completely! And no, we can’t eat “whatever we want” like most assume... fast food is equally unhealthy for us, even if we don’t gain weight, it gives us bloating & pimples. Unfortunately due to more muscle and less fats, we lack energy and we are relatively more lethargic, we don’t have enough stamina like chubbier people. Why can’t these brands accommodate and include everyone instead of only including weighty people, it is tipping the scales and throwing everything off balance. Even XS & S is like L and XL now... trust me, most of their clothes are not even made for “fat” people (if you think you are fat), they are like a Plus size store now which is mostly accommodating only Obese or XL & XXXL Massively Huge Record Breaking Obese people who are also extremely tall. There is obviously more of you to hug when you are chubby but these people are differentiating between us by being bias... they are creating an unnecessary rift between chubby & skinny people; both body types deserve equal respect. Period. Secondly I’m not someone who would plunge or get out of shape, blow out of proportion just to please all guys and fulfil their cheap demands, fétishes, it’s more than appalling to see how models are pressurised to get fat & add more cellulite than proteins to their overall frame. A good, healthy body is far more attractive... I’m one of those muscular, lean, statuesque types, not that I’m not curvy but I’m obviously not out of proportion, I have a broad frame, as in long hands and legs, broad shoulders... An Inverted ‘V’ shape (even Angelina Jolie has a similar structure) but I always wished I was more of an Hourglass, as in a total hourglass like Megan Fox who’s waist size unlike mine isn’t 24, it’s between 22-23, I then noticed that neither Aishwarya Rai nor Angelina Jolie have an hourglass frame, Angie & Keira Knightley are perfect examples of an inverted V figure. I used to criticise my calf muscles and skinny (delicate) but proper broad ankles because at some point I wanted them to be extremely thin Lol! I’m glad God wasn’t that judgemental ‘cuz I have big bones and I need that much muscle & flesh to balance them out or else I’ll look “boney”... I have a sensitive, thin skin anyway so that makes me appear skinny! I just think a person feels and looks their best when they are healthy and the idea of ‘being fit’ can vary because being fit doesn’t necessarily mean being average or thin, if your body type is on the chubbier side, being fit would mean being chubby and letting the body meet its full potential (it can give you lustrous hair, adequate energy and better, glossier skin) but at the same time one has to maintain a healthy diet to keep their cholesterol & other levels in check, working out and exercising is also equally important to remain in shape, it will evenly distribute your fats for a proportionate, balanced frame. If someone’s naturally skinny, you can’t force them to stuff themselves to the point of throwing up! They need necessary vitamins & minerals but it’s impossible to change someone’s metabolism or body type so just let people be who they are. My wish came true & I had thin ankles for a while which were a total bummer! I just hated how skinny I had become, I wasn’t looking like myself at all (there’s still a long way to go, I’m yet to put on some weight) I was looking thin (if that is not exactly what I wanted) anyway, now I’m happy to criticise my calf muscles again!
Trust me I do that every night when I pull up my socks, I’m like why did I have to have such chubby (not that chubby actually) legs? But they are toned...
If you need additional advice about daily supplements & affordable hacks to get quick toned muscles then hit me up!
Does that look like a 24 size skinny jeans to you?
Someone had to say it *sighs* moving on...
Mind you, this pair is custom made (for the model) so the actual fit can be extremely different. But it does remind me of that still from Friends... the filter just screams 90s! Pro tip: I’m sure you know this, there are plenty of apps out there which can turn any video into a vintage pixelated VHS footage & photos into Polaroids.
3. Goth
From OX Blood to Bee stripes & Vintage Bottle Greens to wilted flowers 🥀 and obviously Black... this trend is timeless!
Hopefully sizing won’t be an issue with this set of co-ordinates. I just love the broad shoulder panelling & those classic black glossy front buttons on this long ribbed cardigan... they’ve got a pair of matching knit trousers, sorry pants (if we are speaking 90s) and tons of cropped tops to match inside.
4. Primary Colours
Be it Pepsi Blue or Coke Red, 90’s was apparently a fan of solid primary shades...
(again, sorry ‘Coca Cola’)
Isn’t Jennifer Aniston reminding us of a classic can of Vanilla Coke here?
Short crew neck sweatshirts
Big shoes (haha err... we don’t need those now) Bodycon jersey dresses, slip dresses, knitted jumpers as dresses... mini black skirts, black stockings, long bobs, maroons & prunes, this picture has captured the entire decade in a single shot.
Chocolate Brown cardigan Price: 2590/-
The moment I saw this, I was like, this is sooo Rachel...
You can team it up with this coco coloured knitted bodice Price: 1590/-
I’m in love with this pair of Mint Green flared Marine Denims...
Aah Sage & Cement White/Ecru are the key colours this season!

Editor’s Pick
These Leather Mules are again a classic reminder of the decadent 90’s

Knit Bodysuits in Maroon & Dune 2290/-
Waist tie Cardigan + Waistcoat 1790/-
Plush T-shirt.
Well this might seem a bit more early 2000’s than 90’s, just add a pair of kitten heels, mini skirt, a heart charm necklace & a mini baguette purse and voilaˋ! You’ll have the attitude of a Sassy Chick Flick’s “It Girl”/ “Queen Bee.”
Price for the cardigan: 1290/-
Knit Camisole: 590/-
5. Mini Ray Bans
I miss this trend, although I was just 2 in 1997! We need more of these... #goggles & black gold rimmed small frames, they were so perfect!
6. Hair clips & bobby pins... for either
“I’m still not over 80’s wacky style” or a “polished chic coiffed look.”
Which one are you? Not a big fan of the 80s but I’m definitely Monica here, by the way we have matching nails too.
7. Plaid
Checks, gingham, flannels or plaid were classic in those days...
I rummaged through my closet to find something similar & here:
Found this
Nightsuit Set which has a beautiful pair of classic vintage red checkered shorts
...I can wear ‘em with either a pullover or a sweatshirt or this tank top which I got 2 months back, I have to wash it first, all my parcels are disinfected and then quarantined for a month... or at least 10 days! Love the shade, Coffee Mauve is what I like to call it; lets admit this, that decade was a bit dull but that’s probably where it gets it’s charm from, everything was a bit mix matched back then, no wonder individually sewn hand patterned quilts were so popular!
Hmm... I’ve got 2 nice pairs of cosy, warm socks
And... presenting my Fox in a Box!
I’m a young adult now but I totally approve them, they say you are a kid till the age of 24 and thats true ‘cuz your bones aren’t fully developed till 24-25! Did you know that? My shoe size is between 38-39 but if I’m wearing slip-ons then due to how skinny my feet are I usually go in for size 37. Both of these socks are in adult sizes ie:6-9
Price for fox: 800/- got it on disc. 360/-
Bear: 570/- Not for sale
Well apart from all that... these are my fav items which I got for myself:
Knitted Pink Snowflake Cardigan
1990/-
Here, take a closer look
Along with this Knitted Top 1590/-
I’m planning to accessorise it with
My Rose Quartz tribal bracelet 195/- don’t go on the price, it sparkles more than a baby’s eyes...
This barely there solitaire choker 570/-
and this moon charm necklace which was for 245/-
And last but not the least my favourite baguette bag, if I love something and I know I’ll be using it often I buy 1 extra, just in case... if something goes wrong with it, I’ll have one in spare. I regretted not getting this bag when it was on sale because it is made out of patent leather which can easily get colour transfer (that’s a common complain for vegan as well as pure leather articles) luckily after 2-3 months, to my surprise they restocked it and I found it again on the discounted rack! I finally bagged this bag for 1000/- yay!!
I’m hoping these bootcut jeans would fit me...
I think this pistachio green cardigan will go well with the denims... it’s really pretty, a bit too feminine for my liking but none the less adorable. What’s your take?
Well that was lengthy, thanks for sticking along, my head was paining and burning a lot but I couldn’t resist sharing this article. Hope you enjoyed it! Here’s a lil’ treat for ya!
