What’s up Darls? Oh I almost forgot, that’s Charlotte’s line...
As most of us know, Charlotte Tilbury has finally opened up in India, which was kinda unexpected; I was waiting for this brand to launch here since long but I constantly felt like it was a bit too farfetched... so it was a nice surprise!
Disclaimer: This is not a paid review and I haven’t received any P.R. Packages or Deliverables for my article. All the opinions I’ve shared here are personal.
What I love about this Hollywood Makeup Artist is that she showcases a lot of diversity in everything she does, be it her products or her campaigns, instead of sticking to just Black or White models, she also includes a lot of tanned, warmer, olive skin tones which are again, nonetheless very hot... I also adore the sculpted shape of the lipsticks and the packaging of all these products.
Here’s a list of a few essentials you can grab from this brand on Nykaa:
Pillow Talk which has always been the talk of the town especially in Hollywood!
I received a sample miniature lipstick in Pillow Talk & its a nice pretty, natural, light coral ish pink... it looks like a muted peach even on paler skin tones ie. Emma Roberts & Kate Bosworth so I’m not sure if everyone’s gonna like it. I personally prefer lighter shades because I find darker ones “too matured”, they -as in darker shades not this lipstick can instantly minimise the size of your lips and even give you a stern elderly look...
I was hoping this shade would be more on the pink side, if you aren’t into light pinks & corals/peach, I would recommend:
Pillow Talk’s lustre gloss instead & obviously... the classic lip liners!
2. “Lip Cheat” Lip Pencil in the same shade (Lip cheat as in something to over-line the lips & make your pout more fuller without any fillers or collagen)
3. Another notable product is the Cheek to Chic blush in Pillow Talk, it’s a beautiful warm mauve shade with a highlighter in the centre. Love Glow is also pretty but I find it more fluorescent...
4. Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara
5. Amethyst Aphrodisiac Eyeliner
This is a beautiful jewel toned Lilac-Purple which would look great even on Indian Skin Tone... it’s best suited for warmer complexions as it’s supposed to give you a gorgeous 90’s diva look.
Currently me on Nykaa...
6. Magic Cream
How can I skip this one? Honestly speaking, I can’t afford it so I don’t have it but I’ve heard a lot about it and I like the whipped texture, I’ve also gone through the “list of ingredients” and for me, anything that can replenish your skin and thoroughly hydrate or moisturise it is always worth buying... unless of course you can’t. Nivea and other drugstore products have a lot of artificial ingredients like silicone & parabens which can make them plasticky... I don’t look for a lot of other benefits because for me a well hydrated, dewy plump skin is all that matters but for those who need anti-ageing, it has peptides too.
7. Very Victoria Lipstick which has a nice hint of Bleue, something you’ll commonly find in the Tom Ford family. Why I prefer it more is because relatively it’s less of a risqué if you are not a professional as it falls more on the mauve-pink side...
For those of you who don’t know, when I say Bleue, in lipsticks, it means it belongs to this colour spectrum:
It’s a great find in matte and I personally think it’s a gorgeous stunning shade which definitely deserves a place in our vanity cases. It’s like an essential...
8. The Rebel eyeshadow palette
If you are a risk taker like me, you’ll love this colour scheme... It’s very unique, I love, love the deep ecru, emerald + teal, vintage green & sage!
I have grown up watching Statuesque, Sultry Lakmé models who in the 90s & early 2000s weren’t “Brazilians” (like they cast now) but Indians with beautiful warm skin tones... & dark sparkling eyes, cool brown hair, doll like matte pouts + powdered cheeks. I used to look up to them so much ‘cause they were always so “Sassy, Gorgeous & Hot” like Barbie Dolls. I have always been inspired by them & I have a lot of Baguette Purses, Charm Necklaces & Strappy heels ‘cause I’m still not over that whole decade and ergo, when I came across Charlotte’s campaign (again this year) I couldn’t resist buying Pillow Talk Medium & another lipstick
-which I can’t reveal, I’d like to keep it a secret shhh... as it perfectly resembles what those models would wear! My moodboard is like a tribute to her eclectic range of products & shades as well as her love for dusky skin!
Pillow Talk Medium is something you’ll mostly find Indian Models wearing in those 90’s shoots, we’ve also seen it on all the “It Girls” of Hollywood as well as Olive toned Femme Fatales, it’s a Bombshell colour for someone who isn’t necessarily a blonde... It can amp up that much needed “oomph factor” without looking tacky or garish. It’s also buildable so you can either wear it as a soft mauve-brown or a deep lilac-maroon. I prefer wearing a lighter stroke as my skin is very reflective & darker shades usually make it dull... the other lipcolour reminds me of Sassy Early 2000s when we were all obsessed with Animal Prints & Strappy Slip ons, Baguette, Shoulder Purses and locket pendants... lol! Most of the things in the collage are mine (including the Ecru Teddy) except for the Chanel Blotting papers and the Compact, I have a dry skin so I don’t need ‘em... Both the shades I’ve picked are universally flattering, the latter one is a bit more casual, its a beautiful colour, has a natural sheen to it... I had a hard time fetching real life images because you can’t make out much in the digital pics but I received exactly what I was hoping for... it’s neither too dark nor too light and it would look great when blotted, it can’t give me a natural look during the day without drying out my lips no matter many times I rub it in cuz the creamy formula is super luxurious, it can give a beautiful soft luscious pout... without looking too flashy. I would say, it has a “Sober Bad Girl” vibe to it, for those who are sultry but not slutty, as in titillating & coquettish but also very elusive... goes well with the outer case/bullet, it’s like a perfect match for the colour, beautiful both inside-out. Another thing, these lipsticks are highly pigmented which means they won’t require frequent reapplications; you can get the right colour in a single stroke! The matte one can be a bit drying like most other mattes so you need to use it with a hydrating lip balm...
That’s about it! Thanks for stopping by.
